In only six short months of opening as a resource and community center for children, families and adults to connect and feel inspired to make a difference, the Center for Living Peace of Orange County in Irvine has already attracted world-class speakers for its first Living Peace Speaker Series in partnership with UCI, including Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron, Sir Richard Branson and the Dalai Lama. The series will promote the work of organizations and leaders who are making “Good Happen” in the world and to create both dialogue and action that lead to a more peaceful, connected, and sustainable world. The series launching Saturday features Theron who will appear with Dr. Michael Bennish of Mpilonhle to discuss the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project, which promotes safety and health among impoverished children and communities in South Africa with a focus on those suffering from HIV/AIDS. Happy Travelers Branson Extravaganza Show Trip

Day 3: First we had breakfast in Stone Henge in our hotel, the Stone Castle where we were surprised to be entertained by Denny Yeary, a former bass singer for the Blackwood Brothers. Then we boarded our bus and attended the Brett Family Show at Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater. Next our buses drove us to downtown Branson where some of us had lunch at the Farmhouse Restaurant and shopped. We were driven back to our hotel for a rest, but….some friends wanted to take a taxi to Shoji Tabuchi Theater to see the Ladies’ Restroom. Amazing! Then it was time for our buses to take us to dinner at the Golden Corral. Once again, we were surprised to have entertainment by a former policeman, Allen Edwards. Finally we were driven to Yakov’s Theater and were thoroughly entertained by The Osmond Brothers. Around 10:45 PM, we arrived back at the Stone Castle to get a few winks of sleep before another big adventure tomorrow in Branson, Missouri.

Branson Landing in Branson, Missouri has a great pedestrian mall with lots of shops. There are many restaurants that have outdoor dining overlooking Lake Taneycomo. We ate at the Texas Land & Cattle Company where the food and the service is excellent. You have a great view of the water & fireworks shows that are just wonderful! The fire shoots out of huge tubes and you can feel the heat from 50 feet away!
