Question by strawberry: What are some good vacations for a family of four?
We live here in KC and want to go on a vacation this summer. We would drive, so not too far. We have been to Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha and Silver Dollar City in Branson. What are some other good places? Thanks

If 8 hours is not too far – come north to Minnesota – lots to do. shopping, boating. you can rent a canoe on the St. Croix and watch the eagles. ride a riverboat on the Mississippi. Shop at the mall of america (they have new water park hotel near by – there is always something going on in some town in the summer.

Drive across the state-tour Hannibal? Take in the “Tom Sawyer” sites. The cave, etc
And a nice dinner cruise on the Mississippi.
Drive south to St. Charles-tour old town. Location of the 1st capitol of Missouri.
On to St. Louis. Have to see and go up to the top of the arch. Tour the Budweiser
Brewery-just south on Broadway.
Over to Forest Park-Nice planetarium. And of course the world class zoo.
Certainly try to squeeze in the world famous Botanical Garden.
From St. Louis go 70 w to St. Charles-highway 94 over to Defiance-tour the Daniel Boone home. Precede west-and stop at a few of the wineries. Continue west and have a nice lunch in Herman-then highway 19 north back to I-70.
Just a thought.
